Graham Farish is synonymous with British outline N scale (1:148), until recently a family run business, they are now part of Bachmann Industries Europe.
One of the first things Bachmann did was to introduce a new chassis to most of the diesel locomotives; this features a new motor and flywheel drive system which has proved to be a large improvement over the earlier models. Although work on new steam chassis will take longer to introduce, careful assembly and improved quality control have made huge strides to them in terms of smoother running.

A complete train set is often the first purchase somebody makes as they enter the hobby and Farish offer a range of sets to fit all budgets. From simple freight set with a circle of track, to a mainline steam express set complete with a large oval, there is a good choice and all sets come with Peco compatible Setrack and a mains controller.
As your layout takes shape, you may want to add additional rolling stock, and the Farish range is comprehensive. Steam locomotives are available from the smallest shunter up to the famous express locos such as Mallard and the Flying Scotsman. Most of these are available in a choice of liveries depending which period you are modelling.
Diesel fans are also well catered for and again they are available in a variety of different liveries. Farish have always, and justifiably so, prided themselves on their coaches. Their MK 1 stock from the early fifties in a choice of regional colours, up to the grey and blue period, look so realistic with flush glazing and incredibly fine printed detail. Modern day modellers will also not be disappointed, with a choice of the latest franchised liveries available on a wide range of current stock.
A comprehensive range of freight stock is also on offer, and includes pre-nationalized private owner wagons through the BR steam period and right up to date with the latest stock in modern privatised liveries. N scale layouts are hugely popular in the UK and are an ideal choice if space is at a premium. Remember a layout in N takes up just one quarter of the space it would take to build the exact same thing in OO scale!
